Mr. James Edward (Ed) Burks, age 90, of Grant, passed away
Monday, January 16, 2011, at Barfield Healthcare in Guntersville,
AL. The family will receive friends Tuesday, January 17,
2011, 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm at the funeral home. Funeral services
are scheduled for Wednesday, January 18, 2:00 p.m. at the
Chapel. Interment will follow in Free Home Cemetery.
Bro. David Powell and Bro. Clayton Tuggle will officiate.
Pallbearers are Earl Burks, Jr., Devin Burks, Brian Bishop, Rex
Provence, Royce Edmonds, and Jerry Burks.
Ed is survived by a son, Earl Burks, Sr., and his wife Gloria of
Grant; daughter, Mary Ann Bishop of Arab; grandchildren, Earl
Burks, Jr. and wife Kim, Anna Burks, and Brian Bishop and his wife
Lori; three great-grandchildren, Devin Burks, Maggie Bishop and
Mollie Bishop; brother, Bill Burks; and sister, Louise Troup.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Ruby Ayers Burks; parents,
Earl Edward and Berta Campbell Burks; and brothers, Wayne
Burks.
