Ms. Linda J. Putnam, age 66, of Grant, AL, passed away Monday, May 16, 2011, at Valley View Health and Rehab, Madison, AL.  Funeral services will be Friday, May 20, 2011, 1:00 p.m. at Grant Memorial Chapel with interment following in Free Home Cemetery.  Bro. Patrick Hammett will officiate.  Pallbearers are Dennis Gurley, Ricky Manning, Jake Manning, Keith Derrick, Chris Edwards, and Wesley Edwards.  Family will receive friends at Grant Memorial Chapel Thursday, May 19, 2011, 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.

Linda was born on July 31, 1944 in Guntersville, AL to Melvin Thornton and Tempie Bunch Johnson.  She is survived by her father, David Johnson; daughters, Marketa Gurley and husband Dennis of Madison, and Julie Manning and her husband Rickey of Hazel Green; and two grandchildren, Jordan and Jake Manning.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Melvin Thorton and Tempie Bunch Johnson.
