Grant Memorial Chapel announces the passing of Mrs. Milian
Wilkie, age 95, of Grant, July 20, 2011 at Highland Medical Center
in Scottsboro, AL. Mrs. Wilkie's funeral service is
being arranged with Bryant-Grant Funeral Home in Franklin,
North Carolina. There will be no local service.
Mrs. Wilkie is survived by her son, Jack Wilkie and his wife
Jean of Grant; daughter, Joyce Henderson and her husband, Jerry, of
Franklin, NC; 8 grandchildren; a host of great and
great-great-grandchildren; brother, Garland Bateman and his wife
Hortez of Franklin, NC; and a sister, Lucy Vanhook of Franklin,
NC.
Mrs. Wilkie was preceded in death by her parents, Alec and
Mailey Waters Bateman and 8 brothers and sisters.
