Charles "Sonny" Martin

April 10, 1944 - July 15, 2012

Mr. Charles "Sonny" Martin, age 68, of the Swearengin Community, Scottsboro, Alabama, passed away at his home on Sunday, July 15, 2012 surrounded by his family.  He was born April 10, 1944, to Cress Leon Martin and Annie Gamble Martin.  He was in the U. S. Army and a Vietnam Veteran.  He retired from AT&T telephone company.  After retirement, he farmed and was a carpenter until he was diagnosed with cancer in 2003.  He liked spending time with his family, gardening, reading and watching the Atlanta Braves. Sonny is survived by: Sisters Evelyn Troupe (Charles), Mildred Willmon (Myrle), Patricia Franks, Brenda Ferguson Brother Jerry Martin (Pam) Several Nieces and Nephews Preceded in death Father, Cress Leon Martin Mother, Annie Martin
