Mrs. Christine Childress

July 14, 1948 - February 18, 2022

Mrs. Nora Christine Childress, age 73 of New Hope, Alabama gained her heavenly wings on Friday, February 18, 2022 at Huntsville Hospital after a long battle with cancer. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, February 22, 2022 at Grant Memorial Chapel with Bro. Danny Garner and Bro. Ollie Taylor officiating. Burial will follow in the New Prospect Cemetery in Swearengin. The family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m. Monday at Grant Memorial Chapel. The family respectfully asks for those who attend the visitation and service to please wear a mask. Christine was preceded in death by her only daughter, Mary Angela Burrows; her mother, Vadie Black; father, Colen Black; and numerous brothers and sisters. She is survived by her husband of 21 years, Kenneth Ray Childress; her only granddaughter, Crystal Elisha Gorham and her husband Kelly Wayne Gorham; great grandchildren, Brayden Gorham, Brennen Gorham, and Brandon Gorham; sisters, Wanda Bearden and her husband Gary, Faye Taylor and her husband Randy, and Shelia Trotman and her husband Johnny; brother-in-law, Donnie Childress and his wife Brenda; sister-in-law, Katherine Koopeman; and many nieces and nephews.
