Mr. Verbon Dale Carver passed away peacefully and went to be with his Lord on Tuesday October 13th, 2020. He was 78 years old. He was a member of the Oak Grove Holiness Church. Dale was born on March 10th, 1942 in Marshall County to Ernest and Margie Carver. He is predeceased by his parents, one brother Jimmy, and one sister, Wilma. Dale loved his family deeply and is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Loretta Reynolds Carver. Dale enjoyed working for over thirty plus years for the Guntersville Electric Board. He loved fishing on Lake Guntersville, taking care of his lawn, and in his own words, “piddling”. In recent years he enjoyed working with his son’s real estate auctions. Along with his wife, Dale is lovingly remembered by his daughter, Joy Stapler (Perry), his son Steve Carver (Holly), his grandchildren, Kyle Stapler (Katie), Andy Stapler (Kendra), Westley Stapler (Riley), Cole Carver (Abby), Mary Frances Carver, and Beatrice Carver. He is also survived by six great grandchildren, Dax Stapler, Barrett Stapler, Lillie Stapler, Jack Stapler, Avery Stapler, and Sawyer Stapler. In respect to current health concerns involved with the ongoing pandemic, a private graveside service was held on Tuesday, October 20th, 2020 at Gunter Mountain Memory Gardens in Swearengin, Alabama, with Brother Alton Willmon officiating. Pallbearers included Steve Carver, Cole Carver, Perry Stapler, Kyle Stapler, Andy Stapler, and Westley Stapler. Honorary pallbearers included Sonny Gordon, James Smith, Ray Sorter, Danny Conley, Mike Cagle, Mark Godsey, and Craig Young. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Shepard’s Cove of Marshall County. Mail-in donations can be sent to Shepard’s Cove Foundation 408 Martling Road, Albertville, AL 35951.
