Mr. Norvel Gene Treece Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Norvel G Treece – 82 years old – beloved husband, father, grandfather and brother passed away on Friday, June 10th with his cherished wife by his side. Norvel was born and raised in Grant, Alabama. He graduated DAR High School in 1952 and served in the U.S. Army from 1956 to 1958. He relocated to Chicago where he met Dianna Stacy and they married in 1963. They raised their family of 5 children in Bolingbrook, Illinois for more than 30 years. He & Dianna moved back in Alabama in 1996 when he retired after working as a metal machinist for more than 35 years. Norvel enjoyed spending time with his family, watching old Western movies, attending flea markets and collecting model cars. He is survived by his loving wife, Dianna; his children: Rich (Rikki) Treece, Judie (James) Childress, Darrell (Stefani) Treece, Mark (Canita) Treece and Paul (LeeAnn) Treece; his grandchildren: Andrew & Alex Treece, Jack & Josh Childress, Nathan Treece, Dylan Moinette, Daniel Calderella, Tyler, Sarah-Lynn & Riley Treece and Elin Treece and his sister, Bonnie (Jimmy) Mason, as well as many cherished nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his mother, Tishie Viola (Fultz) Treece, his father, Lawrence G Treece and his brother, TJ Treece. Services were held at Grant Memorial Chapel, with visitation on Sunday, June 12th from 4-7pm and the memorial immediately following. Family graveside services were on Monday, June 13th at Free Home Cemetery in Grant. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his name to Honeycomb Baptist Church Missions, 27394 US Highway 431, Grant, AL, 35747.
