Mr. Roy Frederick Aiken Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Mr. Roy Frederick Aiken age 74 of Grant, Alabama passed away Saturday, February 5, 2022 at Huntsville Hospital. Roy, but better known as Little Ricky, was born on December 10, 1947 in Atlanta, Georgia. The son of Roy & Emma Evans Aiken, he proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. While in the Army, he developed an interest in boxing, becoming somewhat of a boxing enthusiast. After his military service, Mr. Aiken went to work as a salesman with National Linen Service. A lover of family-and his dogs-he will always be remembered as the family comedian, the one who always wore a smile and caused lots of laughter. Mr. Aiken is survived by his wife, Donna Aiken; children, David Shipes (Heather) and Andrea Kilgore; grandchildren, Justin Shipes and Ashley Shipes; uncle, Bill Evans; cousins, Rachel & Larry Walker, Sarah Walker, Ellie Largen, and Dr. Larry & Kathy Rosenburg; and many other cousins, family members, and friends. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Kristen Aiken. A service celebrating his life will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, February 12, 2022 at Grant Memorial Chapel. Officiating will be Rod Edelman. Donna Aiken, Dr. Larry Rosenburg, and Sarah Walker will also speak during the service. Friends may visit with the family on Saturday from 12:30 p.m. until the time of service.
