Mrs. Jan Edmonds Allison

On March 4, 2023 Jan Edmonds Allison passed away in her home with her devoted daughter Deana by her side. Jan was born on December 23, 1944 to parents Curtis and Dorene “Doe” Edmonds. She was a hard-working, single mother to three children Kerry (Connie) Stewart, Deana (Nathan) Osmer, and Wesley (Erica Stewart) for many years before meeting and marrying the love of her life Jimmy “Duck” Allison. Maw Jan, as she was affectionately known by others, earned a reputation as a kind and extremely generous woman who loved spending time with her family and friends. She was actively involved in her church and loved going on trips and shopping with “the girls”, Betty, Jackie, and Judy. Her favorite thing to shop for was new furniture and she wasn’t bashful about asking for help to move or rearrange it! Luckily, she had several sons and grandsons up for the challenge who (usually) answered the phone when she called. Jan was an accommodating host, always welcoming others into both her home and lakehouse - under the condition that they recycle their cans and plastic, of course! To know Jan was to love her. Jan is survived by her children as well as her grandchildren Brad (Keshia) Stewart, Ashley (Kenny) Downs, Zack (Jessica) Jones, Melanie Stewart (Justin Mullinax), Zane Stewart, Abram Stewart, and Max Stewart; her great-grandchildren Kurtis Stewart, Sam McHenry, Sarah Stewart, Brantlie and Harper Downs, and Jett and Bridge Jones; brother, Henry Edmonds; and brothers-in-law, Donald Watson and Ronnie Ingram; as well as by several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jimmy “Duck”, her parents, and sisters Annette Watson and Margaret Ingram. The family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m. on Monday, March 6, 2023 and from 1-2 p.m. Tuesday, March 7, 2023 at Grant Memorial Chapel. Funeral Services will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, March 7, 2023 with Dr. Chuck Conley officiating. Burial will follow at Paint Rock Cemetery. Pallbearers will be the grandsons (and grandson-in-laws) of Maw Jan. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to First Baptist Church of Grant, P.O.
