Mrs. Lucille Ruth Martin

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Lucille Ruth Martin, a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and cherished friend, who left this world peacefully on October 23, 2025, at the age of 99. Born on July 25, 1926, in Goshen, Indiana, Lucille lived a life rich in love, adventure, and generosity, leaving behind a legacy that will resonate through the lives of those she touched. Lucille was the daughter of Lowell Hartman and Ethel Gresso, who instilled in her the values of hard work and kindness. Throughout her life, she was a beacon of strength and resilience, qualities that were especially evident in her role as a devoted wife to Randall Leon Martin, her soulmate. They were married for over 50 wonderful years, sharing countless memories and adventures that defined their enduring partnership. Lucille's professional life was marked by her dedication as an accountant for the Civil Service, where her meticulous nature and commitment to excellence were evident. After retirement, Lucille channeled her energy into her family and her many passions. She had a beautiful sense for fashion and an eye for elegance, which she carried with her throughout her life. Travel was an essential part of Lucille's life, and she cherished the moments spent exploring Europe with her beloved Marty. Together, they traveled to Germany three times and visited Turkey twice, creating a treasure trove of memories that she often recounted with joy. Lucille also had a passion for collecting cut glass and crystal, and her collection reflected her appreciation for beauty in all its forms. Lucille's family was her pride and joy. She is survived by her loving sons, Keith Martin, David (Hope) Martin, Earl Martin, and her beloved daughter, Carrie (Frank) McCrackin. Her legacy continues through her grandchildren: Randall Martin, Justin Martin, Collin Martin, Dale Martin, Heather Campbell, Jaimie Champion, Alexis Meeks, Grace Meeks, Olivia McCrackin, Eric McCrackin, and Jessica McCrackin. Lucille was also a proud great-grandmother, leaving behind a lineage that includes Emma Walger, Ellie Martin, John Martin, and Brody Webb, all of whom will carry her spirit in their hearts. Lucille was preceded in death by her husband, Randall Leon Martin, her dear parents, Lowell Hartman and Ethel Gresso, and her uncle, John Gresso. The love she shared with her family and friends will be deeply missed, but her spirit will forever shine bright in their memories. A visitation to celebrate Lucille's remarkable life will be held on October 26, 2025, from 5:00pm-7:00pm at Grant Memorial Chapel. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Lucille's honor to the Wounded Warriors or the American Cancer Association, causes she held dear. In celebrating the life of Lucille Ruth Martin, we remember her laughter, her unwavering support, and the love she abundantly shared with everyone around her. May she rest in peace, knowing she was deeply loved and will be sorely missed.
